Fast Facts
Dysport®
Dysport® is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable used to temporarily soften moderate to severe wrinkles. It works by relaxing the underlying muscles that create dynamic lines, helping the overlying skin appear smoother. Dysport tends to diffuse over a slightly wider area, which can make it well suited for larger zones like the forehead.
Treatable Areas

Softens the vertical lines between the eyebrows that form with frowning and concentration.
Forehead Lines
Relaxes the horizontal lines across the forehead for a smoother, refreshed look.
Crow’s Feet
Reduces the fine lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes when smiling or squinting.
Bunny Lines
Treats the small wrinkles that appear on the bridge of the nose when scrunching.
Brow Lift
Strategic placement can subtly lift and open the brow area.

What is the difference between Dysport and Botox?
Both are botulinum toxin type A injectables that relax muscles to soften wrinkles. Dysport tends to spread a little more, which can make it efficient for larger areas like the forehead, and many people notice it taking effect slightly faster. Your provider will help determine which is best for your goals.
How long does Dysport take to work?
Many people begin to see results within 2 to 3 days, with full results typically developing over about 1 to 2 weeks.
How long does Dysport last?
Results generally last around 3 to 4 months. Longevity varies based on the treatment area, dosage, and individual factors. Maintenance treatments help sustain results.
Is Dysport better than Botox?
Neither is universally better – they are comparable treatments with subtle differences in onset, spread, and dosing. The best choice depends on the area being treated and your personal response.
How many units of Dysport equal one unit of Botox?
Dysport is dosed differently than Botox; roughly 2.5 to 3 units of Dysport are often used to achieve an effect similar to 1 unit of Botox. Your provider will calculate the appropriate dose for you.
What should you avoid after Dysport?
Avoid rubbing the treated area, strenuous exercise, and lying down for several hours after treatment. Steering clear of alcohol and blood-thinning medications around your appointment can also help minimize bruising.
