Most patients prefer a non-invasive technique than surgical face lift to look younger and have vibrant skin. Today, we offer an innovative anti-wrinkle treatment using your own blood. The treatment is called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. This procedure can help reverse years of damage on your skin.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?
PRP is a natural alternative to synthetic fillers without the concern for allergic reactions. PRP is a relatively new and non-invasive procedure that helps initiate your body’s own regenerative process by utilizing the growth factors that platelets are known to contain.
PRP involves the use of your blood, about four table spoons of blood will be drawn and then placed into a centrifuge and spun at a fast speed to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood, which activates the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). The PRP is then administered with a fine needle in a series of injections on the skin. Once injected, these platelets will release proteins and growth factors that serve to accelerate skin repair and regeneration, and activate stem cells to rejuvenate your skin on your face or body, resulting in fresh, healthy, younger looking skin.
Our skin is at the mercy of many forces as we age: sun, harsh weather, and bad habits. However, we can take steps to help our skin stay healthy and young-looking. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and collagen supply depletes causing the skin to become thinner and weaker. The loss of the elastic tissue (elastin) in the skin with age causes the skin to hang loosely. Skin becomes more transparent, more fragile and wrinkles will appear.
PRP contains special cells called platelets which promote healing, accelerates the rate and degree of tissue healing and regeneration, responds to injury, and formation of new cellular growth. The primary purpose of using PRP is to reduce fine lines and wrinkles making the skin rejuvenated and younger looking.
What Are the Benefits of PRP Injection for Facial Rejuvenation?
PRP activates your maximum anti-aging potential:
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces dark circles under the eyes
  • Improves skin’s texture, color and tone
  • Naturally increases collagen production
  • Pore refinement
  • Creates a natural glow to your skin
  • Reduces acne scars
  • Reduces stretch mark and scars
Is PRP Treatment Painful?
Some patients report that being injected with PRP feels like a pinch. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area being treated. Your specialist may use ice to numb the treatment area after treatment is completed. After your treatment, you can resume your day.
It is important that anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen be avoided following PRP treatments. These medicines may block the effects of the intended healing response facilitated by the injection itself. You may use Tylenol and apply ice as needed.
When Will I See Results?
This treatment is not a “quick fix” and is designed to promote long-term tissue regeneration. The growth of new collagen may take up to 3 months and best results may be seen with multiple treatments. Most patients see best results when they perform a series of 2 or 3 treatments at 4 to 6 week intervals. Results may last up to two years.
Who Should Not Have PRP Treatment?
Most people are suitable candidates for PRP therapy. Individuals with platelet dysfunction syndrome, thrombocytopenia, hypofibrinogenemia, hemodynamic instability, sepsis, acute and chronic infections and chronic liver pathology are not suitable candidates for PRP therapy. Those undergoing anti-coagulant therapy are also not suitable candidates. Smoking interferes with the growth factors and tissue healing. If you smoke, you will not experience the full benefit of PRP treatment.
